The Republican National Convention in Saint Paul came to an end Thursday. Senator John McCain addressed a packed Xcel Energy Center.
Talks continued Wednesday on the possibility of bringing an Art Center to the old Pine County Courthouse. Members of the Pine Center for the Arts gave the Pine City Council a presentation and vowed to bring the center to Pine City.

The Pine City Council voted Wednesday on amending the city’s liquor ordinance. The council voted 3-1 to reject proposed changes in the ordinance.

Red Dog Billy’s Bar & Grill in Pine City may soon have a new home. Owner Jeff Flaherty spoke to the Pine City Council Wednesday and said that he and the Lodge Hotels are in the process of purchasing 5.3 acres near the McDonald’s in Pine City.
